Believing vs. Agreeing

"Mental Assent is seeing it, appreciating it, saying "it is valid, however not for my situation."

Mental Assent concurs that the Bible is a Revelation, that it came from God, and that each Word is valid, but then when the emergency comes it doesn't work. It basically perceives the honesty of that brilliant Book, yet it doesn't follow up on it.

Expectation says, "I will get it at some point."

Confidence says, "I have it now."

Mental Assent says, "It is wonderful. I realize I ought to have it. For reasons unknown I don't get it. I can't get it."

Sense Knowledge confidence says, "When I see it, when I feel it, I will realize I have it."

Genuine confidence in the Word says, "If God says it is valid, it is.”

“If He says that I am strong, I am.

"If He says that I am healed, I am.

"If He says that He cares for me, I know that He does.

"So quietly I rest on His Word, irrespective of evidences that would satisfy the Senses."

Real Faith is built on the Word.

It is untarnished by Sense Knowledge.

It is as unconscious of itself as is the faith of a little child in its mother.”
